DPD's Java file uploader uses a Java applet to provide feedback and reliability for uploading large files.   Because this applet is not straight HTML a small number of users may experience problems uploading files such as stuck or stalled uploads, upload permission errors, etc.

Please review the troubleshooting information below:

General Troubleshooting

  • Check to make sure you have the most current version of the Java JRE run time environment installed on your computer.  Visit this link to check and upgrade your version (free) if advised to.
  • You must allow the applet to communicate with your computer in the warning dialog that opens the first time you view the upload page.  Without permission the applet can not transfer the file from your computer to DPD.
  • 3rd party firewall and internet protection packages such as Zone Alarm, McAfee / Symantec / Norton internet security products, etc. may block the java applet's communication between your computer and DPD's server.   It is recommended that you either grant permission to the java applet or temporarily disable any 3rd party products while uploading.  This is the #1 cause of upload errors.

Supported / Tested Browsers:

The upload applet has been thoroughly tested and found to work in the following browser / platform combination:

  • Apple OS X  / Safari
  • Apple OS X / Firefox
  • Windows XP / IE6 (must click on applet to activate before dragging and dropping files)
  • Windows XP / IE7
  • Windows XP / Firefox
  • Windows Vista / IE8
  • Windows 7 / IE9
  • Windows 7 / IE8
  • Windows 7 / Firefox 3.x
  • Windows 7 / Opera 10.x
  • Windows 7 / Opera 10

3.  Expand the ~/Library/Logs tree item
4.  Click on the Java Console.log item
